Summer time came a little early here in the Philippines. So…we decided to go on a trip and not waste the blue skies and bright sun for a picture-perfect trip at Balinsasayao Twin Lakes Nature Park. Locally known as Twin Lakes, this tourist destination is famous in Negros Oriental and is located after the town of Sibulan and before the town of San Jose.

Getting to the Twin Lakes

The Balinsasayao Twin Lakes Nature Park is located about 28 kilometers from Dumaguete City. My mom (Mamamonster) and I took an easy ride for about half an hour which cost about Php 20 per person (less than US$ 1). We were dropped at the intersection where a group of habal habal drivers waited for us. Habal Habal (motorcycle) rides costs Php 200 per person one way and Php 400 per person round trip.

Lake Balinsasayao & Lake Danao – the Twin Lakes

Upon reaching at the entrance of the Balinsasayao Twin Lakes Nature Park, the smell of nature just rushed to your nostrils and through your body. This just refreshes you despite the ride uphill.

Travel Tip: Wear comfortable shoes and drink a lot of water! Bring some food is you are planning to stay longer (there are picnic areas all over the park).

Dive Monster Senior aka “Baby Jesus”

Just as I mentioned, the weather was just perfect! Clear blue skies and sunny weather. To our surprise, we had one picture where Baby Jesus! Well Baby Jesus impersonator… a pretty good one. It reminded us of Christ the Redeemer in Rio.

Picture Picture Picture

If there is one other thing the Dive Monsters are good at is taking selfies and pictures! Here are some of our top picture from the trip featuring our Mamamonster (Dive Monster Senior’s Missus and Dive Monster Jr.’s mother).

After roaming around and actually relaxing, we headed home. It is a trip for everyone who can make it up there!

It was great spending time with Dive MosnterSenior and Mamamonster. We had a great day with lots of nature. Just the breath of fresh air, away from the city in the middle of the forest and raw nature made everything worthwhile. I would personally go there again during a weekend and probably stay by the lake and watch the water and listen to the birds sing.

I can’t wait t go there again. Until the next trip then!

Love,
Daisy
